The Indian team has suffered a major setback ahead of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 with fast bowler Harshit Rana being ruled out of the tournament. Harshit has been sidelined due to an injury. He was unable to recover in time from an injury sustained during a warm-up match, forcing him to withdraw from the tournament.
Who can replace Harshit Rana?
The selectors have not yet announced a replacement player for Harshit Rana. However, according to media reports, experienced fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj or Mohammed Shami could be included in the Indian squad. Shami has been performing exceptionally well in the last few months, and has once again put himself in contention.
On the other side, Siraj hasn’t played T20 cricket for a long time. He has been consistently playing in the Test and ODI formats. His last T20 match for India was during the tour of Sri Lanka in July 2024.
