Trevor J’Daniel Rogers is an American baseball player who pitches for the Baltimore Orioles in Major League Baseball (MLB). He was born on November 13, 1997, in Carlsbad, New Mexico. Rogers started playing in the MLB on August 25, 2020, originally with the Miami Marlins, who picked him 13th overall in the 2017 MLB Draft.
Career Journey
Amateur Career: Rogers began his career at Carlsbad High School, earning praise for a prominent junior year (9–2 record, 0.70 ERA, 122 strikeouts).
Draft and Minor Leagues: He planned to play baseball at Texas Tech University but instead signed a contract with the Miami Marlins after he was selected in the baseball draft. He worked hard while playing for the Marlins’ minor league teams and had a very good year in 2019, when he was chosen as an All-Star in the Florida State League.
MLB Debut and Rookie Season (2020-2021): Rogers debuted with the Marlins in 2020. In 2021, he finished second in National League Rookie of the Year voting after sharing a 2.64 ERA and 157 strikeouts in 24 starts
Subsequent Seasons: Rogers fought injuries in 2022 and 2023, but recovered to make 21 starts for the Marlins in 2024.
Trade to Orioles: On July 30, 2024, he was traded to the Orioles. After a minor league stint, he returned to the Orioles’ rotation in May 2025 and has posted excellent numbers since his return.
