During the first Test against England at Headingley, Leeds, in June 2025, Bumrah reached 147 wickets (some sources later updated this to 148 wickets as the match progressed), overtaking Akram’s previous record of 146 wickets in these nations.

Bumrah’s success is particularly notable for his performances in Australia, where he has taken 64 wickets in just 12 Tests at an impressive average of 17.15. He also has strong records in England, South Africa, and New Zealand. His overall tally in SENA countries, as of the end of Day 2 at Headingley, stands at either 147 or 148 wickets, depending on the latest updates, with a Test average in these regions around 21.
