Australia have unveiled fresh squads for the closing stages of their white-ball tour of India, with Glenn Maxwell confirmed to make his international return for the final three T20Is starting October 29. The 37-year-old allrounder has fully recovered from a fractured wrist that kept him out since September 2024, and his return is seen as a key boost ahead of next year’s T20 World Cup in India and Sri Lanka.
Joining Maxwell is 20-year-old Western Australian fast bowler Mahli Beardman, who earns his maiden senior call-up after impressive domestic performances and a starring role in Australia’s 2024 U19 World Cup triumph. Selectors have opted for a rotational approach, with senior quicks Josh Hazlewood and Sean Abbott released early to prepare for red-ball duties ahead of the Ashes starting November 21.
