Asia Cup 2025: T20Is played by Indian Players in last one year

The 2025 Men’s Asia Cup cricket tournament, the 17th edition, is scheduled to take place in the United Arab Emirates from September 9 to 28, 2025. India has announced its squad for the Asia Cup 2025, which will be held in the UAE. Suryakumar Yadav will captain the Indian team, while Shubman Gill has been named as the vice-captain.

Over the past year, Indian T20 cricket has gone through exciting changes, with new captains, standout performances, and big achievements. Between August 2024 and August 2025, India won the T20 World Cup in the West Indies and USA, ending their 11-year wait for an ICC trophy.

 Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson have been the opening pair in each of India’s last 12 T20Is. This indicates both players have featured in all 12 T20I matches India has played since the World Cup.

  • Suryakumar Yadav: Current T20I captain, participated in all key series post-World Cup.
  • Sanju Samson: Incumbent opener with Abhishek, played 12 straight matches.
  • Hardik Pandya: Regular all-rounder, ever-present after the World Cup.
  • Varun Chakaravarthy: Led the spin department, featured in each series after the World Cup.

This squad announcement was made by BCCI chief selector Ajit Agarkar and was confirmed after a meeting with BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia.
