Toyota as a new sponser?
Toyota Motor Corporation has shown strong interest in sponsoring the Indian cricket team jersey following the recent exit of the previous sponsor. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is currently in talks with Toyota and a fintech start-up regarding the title sponsorship for the Indian cricket team, especially ahead of the Asia Cup 2025 scheduled to start in September in the UAE.
The official tender process for the new jersey sponsor has not yet started, but Toyota is considered a leading contender. If Toyota secures the deal, it is expected to be a high-value contract, potentially exceeding Dream11’s previous multi-year agreement worth around 350 crore INR. Currently, the Indian team may have to play without a jersey sponsor if the deal is not finalized before the Asia Cup, as the jerseys printed with Dream11 branding will not be used for the tournament.
