Indian Cricketer Shardul Thakur is set for a homecoming as Mumbai Indians have secured his services from Lucknow Super Giants in a trade move ahead of the new IPL season. The experienced all-rounder, known for his wicket-taking bursts and handy lower-order runs, will now reunite with his hometown franchise as MI continue to strengthen their squad balance.

Shardul Thakur has been officially traded from Lucknow Super Giants to Mumbai Indians ahead of the IPL 2026 season. He was originally signed by Lucknow as an injury replacement for INR 2 crore and played 10 games for them in IPL 2025. The trade to Mumbai Indians is for his existing player fee of INR 2 crore. The trade deal also coincides with an exchange involving Arjun Tendulkar moving from Mumbai Indians to Lucknow Super Giants.
