Quinton de Kock is a South African international cricketer known as one of the best wicketkeeper-batsmen of his generation. He has been a key player for South Africa in all formats and has a reputation as a dangerous opening batsman.
The 32-year-old had retired from ODIs after the 2023 World Cup but remained active in T20 leagues and was South Africa’s top scorer in the 2024 T20 World Cup before stepping away from international white-ball cricket, but recently reversed his retirement to return to South Africa’s white-ball squads for the tour of Pakistan in late 2025. His return is seen as a major boost for South Africa, with head coach Shukri Conrad confirming De Kock’s strong ambition to represent his country again. De Kock will be part of the squads for the three ODIs and three T20 matches against Pakistan, scheduled from mid-October to early November 2025.

De Kock has scored 6,770 runs in 155 ODIs, including 21 centuries, and his inclusion is expected to strengthen South Africa’s batting line-up as they focus on preparation for the 2026 T20 World Cup and the 2027 ODI World Cup, which South Africa will co-host.
