The European T20 Premier League (ETPL) is a new T20 cricket tournament approved by the ICC. It will feature six teams from Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands. The first season runs from August 26 to September 20, 2026.
Key Features
This league involves cricket boards from Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands working together. It’s the first T20 cricket event approved by the ICC that spans multiple countries. It brings back an idea like the cancelled 2019 Euro Slam T20 tournament. The goal is to grow cricket in Europe by featuring big international stars alongside local players.
Confirmed Players
Australia’s cricket stars Steve Smith and Mitchell Marsh (who leads the T20 team) have joined the Amsterdam Flames. They’ve signed alongside Netherlands captain Scott Edwards. The team is also negotiating with Tim David, showing big interest from international players.

Teams and Venues
Only a few team names have been announced so far, like Amsterdam Flames. Other teams will be based in places like Dublin (Ireland), Belfast (Northern Ireland), Edinburgh, and Glasgow (Scotland). Full player rosters and captains haven’t been revealed yet, with the league set to launch in 2026.
